Ted DiBiase Jr. currently faces a lengthy prison sentence after being accused, along with his father and brother, of involvement in the Mississippi welfare funds scandal. According to the allegations that have rocked the southeastern state, DiBiase Jr. was paid for various services that were either never delivered or failed to aid people in need, such as serving as a banquet speaker. Still, it should be noted that the 42-year-old remains free on a $10,000 bond, having pleaded not guilty.
And now it has been reported by RingsideNews.com that 42-year-old DiBiase Jr’s court date has been pushed back to January 6, 2026, after his lawyers submitted 47 hours of footage that they claim shows “Mr. DiBiase performed a substantial amount of work under the alleged ‘sham’ contracts.” If true, this could clear him, making it a significant part of his defense.
DiBiase Jr. is a third-generation professional wrestler who broke into the business himself in 2006 and was signed by WWE the following year. From there, he was fast-tracked to the main roster after spending time in FCW, and he would twice memorably win the World Tag Team Championships with Cody Rhodes. However, he never reached the heights many expected him to, and in 2013, he opted not to renew his contract, instead wanting to focus on other opportunities.
