With her WWE contract having officially expired, Shotzi Blackheart returned to the indie scene this past weekend, competing for both Hoodslam and GCW. And while she’d previously disclosed that she’s looking forward to having fun on the independents, as expected, she has now confirmed during an interview with Podcast Heat that she wants to work for AEW, naming Toni Storm and Mina Shirakawa as two talents she’d love to face.
33-year-old Shotzi, real name Ashley Urbanski, caught WWE’s attention by trying out for Tough Enough, although she ended up having to withdraw from the competition due to health issues. Still, despite this setback, she would continue pursuing her WWE dream and would be re-signed a few years later, going on to feature on NXT and then SmackDown. However, her career lost all of its momentum when she landed awkwardly while attempting an apron DDT and subsequently required knee surgery, which saw her miss most of 2024.
