With her WWE contract having officially expired, Shotzi Blackheart returned to the indie scene this past weekend, competing for both Hoodslam and GCW. And while she’d previously disclosed that she’s looking forward to having fun on the independents, as expected, she has now confirmed during an interview with Podcast Heat that she wants to work for AEW, naming Toni Storm and Mina Shirakawa as two talents she’d love to face.

“AEW is one of the top wrestling companies in the world. Why wouldn’t I want to be at AEW? I think every indie wrestler wants to be at AEW. Like, it’s just such a silly question to me, and I don’t know why it shocks people. If I say that I want to be there, like I want to wrestle everywhere, and of course, I want to wrestle at the biggest wrestling promotion there is. Like, that’s just that’s such a silly question to me. But yeah, Mina Shirakawa, she’s hot. She is fun in the ring. I would definitely love to go against her. Toni Storm, I’ve loved her forever.”Shotzi Blackheart

33-year-old Shotzi, real name Ashley Urbanski, caught WWE’s attention by trying out for Tough Enough, although she ended up having to withdraw from the competition due to health issues. Still, despite this setback, she would continue pursuing her WWE dream and would be re-signed a few years later, going on to feature on NXT and then SmackDown. However, her career lost all of its momentum when she landed awkwardly while attempting an apron DDT and subsequently required knee surgery, which saw her miss most of 2024.
