Shane Douglas Discloses What Scott Hall Said During Private Apology

In a recent YouTube video, Shane Douglas has revealed that Scott Hall apologized to him several months before Hall’s death. According to Douglas, Hall approached discreetly, saying, “Hey, can we talk?” going on to admit that he and Shawn Michaels were the main instigators behind backstage politics that derailed Douglas’ WWF career in the mid-1990s, clarifying that Kevin Nash, Triple H, and Sean Waltman weren’t involved. Hall would also express regret for his part, saying, “I’m so sorry,” with Douglas immediately accepting the apology.

He came to me and said, ‘Hey, can we talk?’ Sure, we went and sat down and talked. And he said, ‘Look, he and Shawn were the instigators of the whole thing, and that Kev and Hunter and Pac really had nothing to do with it.’ And he said, ‘We should have never done it to you.’ And he said, ‘I’m so sorry.’ And I said, ‘Bro, I’m so thankful he came and said that. Water under the bridge.’ We literally that day, talked, spoke about it, and put it behind us.– Shane Douglas

Douglas and Hall had significant backstage heat stemming from Douglas’ brief mid-1990s WWF push as Dean Douglas. Douglas felt sabotaged by politics from the Kliq, who he believed undermined his career, including a controversial Intercontinental Championship change that made him a transitional champion. This created lasting resentment, evident when Douglas confronted Hall backstage at an ECW show years later, ejecting him amid hostility from other ECW talents, including Bam Bam Bigelow and Chris Candido, over past mistreatment. Since then, Douglas has been very open about his resentment towards Hall, but thankfully, it appears he no longer holds a grudge.
