Earlier today Shad Gaspard’s wife Siliana posted on her social media that her husband had been missing since Sunday, and shortly after, the story was picked up by TMZ with further details reported.
The former WWE Superstar was swimming the waters at Marina Del Rey Beach in Venice Beach, California with his 10-year-old son when they were caught in a riptide. Gaspard would direct lifeguards to rescue his son first but was then hit by a large wave and has not been seen since. The Los Angeles Fire Department, various lifeguards, and the US Coast Guard were searching for him, but we understand the search has now been called off.
Gaspard last wrestled for WWE in November 2010 and has since worked on the independents and focused on his acting career. Our thoughts are with his family and friends, as we hope for a miracle at this dreadful time.
