When people discuss wrestlers living their gimmick, often the first name that comes to mind is Ric Flair, who has famously been the life of the party for over 50 years. However, while this would help Flair become one of the biggest names ever in the business, it has undoubtedly had its downfalls, with financial recklessness and multiple divorces becoming part of his legacy.
And now, during a recent interview, Flair has claimed that living the gimmick is why he “forgot” to pay his taxes on more than one occasion.
While Vince McMahon is known as a ruthless businessman, on occasion, he has helped out those who worked for him, such as ensuring that Bruce Prichard’s wife received the best possible treatment when diagnosed with cancer. Still, many were surprised when Flair divulged on his podcast that McMahon had helped him pay his tax debts in the ’90s via an $800,000 loan, revealing that the disgraced billionaire told him, “I wouldn’t lend my kid this kind of money.” Yet the 16-time world champion, unfortunately, wouldn’t learn from this and almost lost his home in 2019 after neglecting to pay the government again.
