Apart from being a pro wrestler and now a commentator for AEW, Paul Wight is also an actor. He recently had his own Netflix show, The Big Show Show, and has appeared in multiple movies. One of his earliest movie roles came in The Waterboy, which starred Adam Sandler and Henry Winkler. He played professional wrestler Captain Insano, who appeared in a memorable scene in the movie, taking a call from Sadler’s character. Hd and a generic wrestling announcer would laugh at Sandler’s character once they found out he was 31 after initially thinking he was a child. Now speaking on Renee Paquette’s podcast, he has teased bringing the movie character back, as AEW has applied to trademark the name.
Looking at the trademark, it appears to have been applied for on March 6th with the purpose of it being used in a video game. So it’s likely AEW’s upcoming video game could see Wight appear as an alternative character in the game. No release date is yet known for the much-anticipated game, but based on comments, it sounds like everyone involved is focused on making the best wrestling game possible instead of rushing its release. Having little things like having Captain Insano available to play will certainly be a cool bonus.
