Papa Roach hit a major milestone recently when their nu-metal classic “Last Resort” passed one billion plays on Spotify. The song originally appeared on the “Ready To Rumble” soundtrack. The movie, released in 2000, starred David Arquette and featured a number of cameos from WCW wrestlers of the time including Goldberg, Sting and Diamond Dallas Page.
The song opens with the lyrics “Cut my life into pieces,” which some either misheard or joked that it sounded like “Cut my life into pizzas.” Well now, Papa Roach has used the gag about their lyrics as a merchandising opportunity releasing a “Last Resort” pizza cutter and an apron named after another one of their hits, “Broken Home.”
“It slices, it dices, it “Cuts My Life Into Pizza!” reads the product description of the pizza cutter.
“Grab the first ever, Official ‘Cut My Life Into Pizza’ Cutter now available at the newly minted “Broken HomeGoods” 🍕 . The perfect gift, the perfect stocking suffer, and the perfect ironic kitchen tool for anyone who’s ever heard the classic tune. 2 1/2″ blade, large enough to cut through any pizza crust. Thumb guard to prevent injury while cutting quickly. Product size 9″. Complies with FDA, Food Grade.”
The apron description reads: “Get cooking in true ROACH fashion with our classic Papa’s Kitchen, Broken HomeGoods Apron 👨🏻🍳🪳Classic fitting, tie back, 100% cotton and machine washable.”
The pizza cutter costs $24.99, while the apron will set fans back $29.99. Both products can be viewed at paparoachmerch.com.
