New Trademark Applications Fuel Speculation Former AEW Tag Team Could Soon Reunite

AEW original Jack Perry is currently waiting to be re-introduced to AEW television, having been suspended for his part in the All In backstage altercation with CM Punk. And now, following reports that last week he trademarked his real name and his former gimmick name “Jungle Boy,” it has been noted he has now applied for both “Jurassic Express” and “A Boy and His Dinosaur.” Subsequently, it has been speculated he could be set to return to his former Jungle Boy gimmick and may even be resuming his popular tag team alongside Luchasaurus in the future.

26-year-old Perry and 38-year-old Luchasaurus first began teaming up in 2019, initially for Joey Ryan’s Bar Wrestling indie promotion under the name A Boy and His Dinosaur. Then, later that year, the pair would join AEW, with Tony Khan needing to fill his roster with several unknown names, having just launched the promotion.

Soon, the duo aligned with Marko Stunt, creating a new stable called Jurassic Express, which became a very successful underneath act. However, Stunt’s AEW contract wasn’t renewed, and shortly after their 161-day run as AEW World Tag team Champions ended, Perry and Luchasaurus would feud due to the involvement of Christian Cage, with AEW management seeing the pair as potential singles stars.
