New Court Documents Reveal Huge Update in Janel Grant’s High-Profile Lawsuit

WWE, Vince McMahon, and Janel Grant have filed a joint motion in federal court requesting to move the high-profile sex trafficking lawsuit into confidential private arbitration. A new court filing reveals that all parties are in active discussions to resolve the explosive case outside the courtroom. If approved, the agreement would postpone the upcoming June 16 hearing and shield sensitive allegations, evidence, and details from further media scrutiny and public view. This development marks a significant shift, as Grant had previously strongly opposed arbitration.

The parties are in active discussions regarding a potential agreement to arbitrate the dispute in confidential arbitration that would moot those motions. They seek this relief in good faith, to avoid unnecessarily consuming the Court’s and the parties’ resources—and so they can focus on progressing the potential arbitration agreement.– courtlistener.com

The lawsuit stems from allegations made by former WWE employee Janel Grant in January 2024, where he accuses McMahon of sexually assaulting and emotionally abusing her while trafficking her to other men in exchange for business favors between 2019 and 2022.  She had previously accepted a $3 million NDA settlement in 2022, but says payments stopped, prompting her to file the public case and leading to the shocking details becoming known. And while the lawsuit forced McMahon to step away from WWE, he has strongly denied all allegations.
