AEW fired CM Punk in September 2023 following a backstage altercation with Jack Perry at All In, which was his second such incident in the company. Therefore, at the time, many believed his time in the pro wrestling spotlight was over, given his past relationship with WWE ending under circumstances. Still, both sides would put their differences aside to make money, and so far, it’s believed the relationship couldn’t be better.
However, former WWE wrestler Matt Riddle has now claimed in an interview with Going Ringside that “his boys,” who currently work for the company claim Punk is a “headache” backstage and a “b*tch” to work with. Additionally he would take a shot at Punk’s MMA fighting skills, saying he “sucks.”
While Punk is currently on top of the wrestling world, unfortunately, the same cannot be said about Riddle. As despite having a high level of fame due to his past in both WWE and UFC, so far, he hasn’t managed to land a full-time job with another major company. Yet, he is the current MLW Champion and made an appearance for TNA, so he remains very much involved in the business, but just on a lower level.
