On Monday, news broke that Jeff Hardy had been arrested the previous night for DUI. Subsequently, it would be revealed his breathalyzer test results were 3.7 times the legal limit, confirming he had sadly fallen off the wagon. Now, with Jeff’s life turned upside down, he clearly needs his family more than ever, and his brother Matt has thankfully stated on Twitter that he is sticking by him by continuing to do what he can to get Jeff healthy.
Late last year, fans became critical of Jeff’s booking in WWE, and Matt publicly stated his desire for Jeff to join him AEW. At the time, the brothers hadn’t teamed since 2019, and fans were clamoring to see them reunite in a new environment. And while their reunion was initially successful, their big match with The Young Bucks at Double or Nothing failed to live up to expectations. However, it would later be revealed by Matt that Jeff had been almost knocked unconscious during the bout, so the fact he finished the match was remarkable. Yet some people speculate that this, along with his No DQ match with Darby Allin a few weeks earlier, may have played a part in his return to drinking.
