Matt Cardona only agreed to five dates when he joined AEW, seemingly wanting to test out if the promotion was a good fit for him. Speaking to Bro Bible’s “Not About Wrestling” YouTube show, he told them that he has loved his time with AEW and wants to remain with the company.
You know, the past two weeks I was there, I loved it. It was great. You know, it was weird being like the new kid in school. You’re meeting all these new friends and stuff like that, but you know, the reception online has been great. Couple of haters, whatever, it’s life, gonna happen, but I was happy with my performance, and I can’t wait to do more with them. Matt Cardona
Cardona made his debut in AEW in July after being released from WWE in April. He saved longtime friend Cody Rhodes from an attack from Dark Order members Alex Reynolds and John Silver, and the following week made his in-ring debut he teaming with Cody defeating Reynolds and Silver.
