Marty Jannetty was a huge part of WWE at one time, both as a tag team performer and in singles. Therefore, it looks inevitable that he’ll end up in the WWE Hall of Fame, sooner rather than later. However, during a new interview with Hannibal TV, the former WWE star claimed he believes he is blacklisted from their Hall of Fame due to his involvement in a failed class action lawsuit against the company.
For those unaware of this legal case, in July 2016, 53 wrestlers, including Road Warrior Animal, Paul Orndorff, Chavo Guerrero, King Kong Bundy, Jimmy Snuka, and Sabu, alleged that WWE knew of the dangers of CTE but prioritized profits. Still, the lawsuit was dismissed, and subsequently, Vince McMahon decided not to work with those involved in the lawsuit again.
Life has been very challenging for 65-year-old Jannetty in recent years, with it being known that he has been struggling with post-surgery complications following multiple operations on his ankle. In fact, at one time, it was thought he would need to have his leg amputated, although thankfully, it appears that is no longer necessary. Additionally, he recently had to have major oral surgery, which saw him get married to get insurance coverage, indicating that if anyone could do with a WWE Hall of Fame induction and Legends contract, it’s him.
