AEW’s Leila Grey, unfortunately, suffered a torn ACL during her match against Mercedes Moné on the December 6 episode of Collision, seemingly sidelining her for the majority of 2026. This has since seen some ignorant fans express anger toward Moné, blaming the former WWE star for the injury.
However, Grey has now defended her opponent on X, calling Moné “one of the most amazing humans ever” and clarifying that the injury was not Moné’s fault. Additionally, she disclosed Moné stayed by her side following the injury, helped pack her bags, and has checked on her nonstop.
35-year-old Grey is a multifaceted entertainer who also pursues singing and acting in addition to professional wrestling. Breaking into the business in 2020, she soon gained attention on the indies, resulting in her working for AEW as an enhancement talent, putting over names like Tay Conti, Thunder Rosa, and Serena Deeb. This would lead to her getting more opportunities with the promotion and, eventually, earning a full-time contract.
