Earlier this week, Stevie Richards’ podcast comment about Kyle Fletcher needing to go to NXT so someone can “teach him how to work” went viral, with WWE fans agreeing, while AEW supporters would question the ECW original’s credibility. And now, having heard what Richards said, the Australian has addressed the claim while speaking to The Ringer.
In this, Fletcher would say he doesn’t believe the statement about him, having nobody to learn from was made in good faith, going as far as to call it “f*cking horseh*t,” noting that Bryan Danielson is there almost every week for talents to get advice from.
26-year-old Fletcher broke into the pro wrestling business in his home country in 2014, initially under the ring name InstaGraham. From there, he began working on the UK independent scene and teaming with fellow Australian wrestler Mark Davis as Aussie Assault before renaming themselves Aussie Open. Subsequently, they signed with New Japan, winning the IWGP Tag Team Championship and Strong Openweight Tag Team Championship, which put the duo on Tony Khan’s radar.
