Kevin Nash Eyes Lawsuit Over Suspected TKO Underpayment

It’s well-known that Kevin Nash takes the money side of pro wrestling seriously, doing his best to ensure he gets every dollar he is owed. And now, during the latest episode of his podcast, he suggests that he may sue TKO after changes to how they list and pay royalties have resulted in his checks decreasing. Whether Nash has a case is unclear, but there doesn’t seem to be any particular reason that NWO merchandise would have stopped selling it in its typical quantities, with 168 items currently listed at shop.wwe.com.

“When I was making huge money in my royalties, it was broken down. It would say nWo t-shirts, nWo women t-shirts. Now it says nWo intellectual property, and there’s just a number. It’s going to be a forensic accounting, and I’ll f*cking sue them, and I mean, that’s just the way it goes … It got weird when they f*cking sold, I can only go by what I was making. I can only imagine what like Hulk Hogan, Steve Austin, Rock, like if you take all those guys, I think Steve was at 50% of his merch. Some of mine was at 25%.”Kevin Nash

Royalties are one of the most significant income sources for retired wrestlers, so if TKO has decided to recalculate how payments are made, this could be a massive issue in the business. As while it’s doubtful that the quality of life for names like Kevin Nash and Steve Austin will be significantly affected, a drop in income could be devastating for the families of deceased stars like Umaga, Sid Vicious, and Roddy Piper, who rely on these payments to cover their bills.
