Jury Reaches Verdict In Ted DiBiase Jr.’s Federal Fraud Case

The Clarion-Ledger has reported that former WWE wrestler Ted DiBiase Jr. was acquitted on all 13 federal charges on Friday, March 20, 2026, following a roughly four-hour jury deliberation. The accusations stemmed from a 2023 indictment, centered on wire fraud, theft from federally funded programs, and money laundering, with prosecutors alleging he improperly obtained nearly $3 million in welfare funds meant for impoverished Mississippi families through fictitious contracts. DiBiase Jr. pleaded not guilty, and his defense always contended he legitimately earned the funds.

A federal jury found Ted DiBiase Jr., a former professional wrestler, not guilty of all criminal counts in his indictment for his involvement in Mississippi’s welfare fraud scandal. Jurors, who heard from at least two dozen witnesses during the trial, deliberated Friday, March 20, for approximately four hours before returning the not guilty verdict.– The Clarion-Ledger

43-year-old DiBiase Jr., son of WWE Hall of Famer “Million Dollar Man” Ted DiBiase, debuted in professional wrestling in 2006 after training with Chris Youngblood and at Harley Race’s Wrestling Academy. From there, he captured the Fusion Pro Tag Team Championship with his brother, Mike, and briefly competed in Pro Wrestling Noah in Japan. Signing with WWE in 2007, he excelled in developmental Florida Championship Wrestling. However, he didn’t have the same success on the main roster, despite being aligned with a young Cody Rhodes and an already established main-eventer in Randy Orton.
