Earlier today, a charity wrestling event was announced that was being run through Joey Ryan’s Bar Wrestling promotion. He and multiple other well-known names were set to wrestle, and to say that there was a negative reaction would be an understatement. Tony Khan would even say in a tweet, “If Joey Ryan is there, my people won’t be there. I’ll gladly donate to the charity though.” Now though the show has been canceled, as you can see below.
Ryan is currently taking legal action against multiple people who made accusations against him as part of the #SpeakingOut movement last year, as well as Impact Wrestling, who terminated his contract. Ryan did address and deny the allegations in a since-removed YouTube video, and while not having been convicted of a crime, it appears he is unwanted by fans in the wrestling business.
