In early February, news broke that WWE had released several talents, including one-half of the Unholy Union, Isla Dawn. Obviously, this was a massive blow to her career, although recently WrestleVotes reported she would be working for AEW “in the very near future.”
And now, during an interview with the Daily Star, she has discussed what she’s been doing in her free time, and in the process set the record straight on speculation she has been dating AEW’s James Drake, who previously wrestled as Jagger Reid in NXT.
31-year-old Dawn, real name Courtney Stewart, broke into the business in 2013, with her first official match being against fellow Scottish wrestler Nikki Cross of the Wyatt Sicks. From there, she became a regular on the UK indie scene before getting her big break via Stardom in Japan. Thus, when WWE decided to launch NXT UK in 2019, it was no surprise to see her sign a contract and work against future stars Rhea Ripley, Toni Storm, and Lyra Valkyria.
