AEW wrestler Harley Cameron recently sparked online buzz by posting what appeared to be an audition tape on Instagram for the lead role in the surprise smash hit horror film “Obsession.” The versatile wrestler and entertainer claimed she had come close to securing the part and even tagged the director in. However, the AEW star soon took the post down and has now clarified that the clip was actually a joke that missed the mark, saying, “I was being Australian.“
“Guys oh my gosh it was satire I had to take it down because the joke didn’t hit the way I planned – I was being AUSTRALIAN and terrible at acting hahahaha.” – Harley Cameron
While Cameron was joking, professional wrestling’s female stars are increasingly crossing over into acting, using their charisma and athleticism to thrive on screen. Talents like Liv Morgan, Mercedes Mone, and Becky Lynch have secured notable roles in films and television series. Meanwhile, non-binary trailblazer Max the Impaler, celebrated for their fierce in-ring presence, delivered a standout performance as the titular creature in the 2025 horror hit “Dolly.”
