Former WWE Star Joins OVW In Management Role

OVW was formed in 1993 by Danny Davis and is best known to wrestling fans for its time as a developmental territory for WWE between 1999 and 2008. During this period, multiple future stars, including John Cena, Brock Lesnar, Batista, and Randy Orton, would learn the business there. However, nowadays, a new generation of fans is learning about the promotion thanks to the new docuseries “Wrestlers” on Netflix. And with that Netflix money in the bank, the company has announced that Mickie James is joining them as Creative Director, Head of Female Talent, and Executive Producer.

44-year-old James had most recently been wrestling for Impact Wrestling but departed the company after putting over Trinity at Bound For Glory last October. At the time, it was thought her contract with the promotion had expired, although it was later revealed she had actually been working without one and had herself decided to take a break. Yet, it is understood that the relationship between both signs remains fine, seemingly leaving the door open for her to return one day.
