Unexpected Name Could Be About To Sign WWE Legends Deal

While in the mainstream, Jesse Ventura is best known for being the 38th Governor of Minnesota and appearing in major movies like “Predator” and “The Running Man,” wrestling fans still remember him best for his time with WWE and WCW. Yet, the WWE Hall of Famer has had very little to do with the business in recent years with it very known that he and Vince McMahon had a prickly relationship.

However, with McMahon now out of power, it appears Ventura could soon partner with the company again. This was revealed by himself during a recent interview, as he is currently negotiating a WWE Legends contract. Still, anyone hoping he’ll return to television will be disappointed to find out he has no plans to go behind the mic again because he is unfamiliar with the current product.

“We don’t know right now fully. They want to bring me back under their Legends. If you go back to WrestleMania 1, there aren’t too many of us alive anymore … I’m getting older. I’m in my 70s now. I just want to open up the door at the end of the wrestling career and see what’s still left there. And it ain’t like I’m going to go back on the mic because I’ll be honest with you, I don’t even know who wrestles there anymore.”

For those who may not be familiar with WWE Legends contracts, these grant the company rights to a wrestler’s likeness for merchandise and video games. They also typically include a set fee for television appearances. And while these agreements sometimes include exclusivity to WWE, each one is tailored to the specific talent, which explains why Jake Roberts can work for AEW but still have action figures produced by WWE’s partner Mattel.
