Former WCW Talent Recently Underwent Open Heart Surgery

In sad and unfortunate news, former WCW wrestler Lodi, real name Brad Cain has revealed he has recently undergone open heart surgery after wrestling a match on June 17th. He would go on to detail this in a Facebook update, where he revealed he spent the best part of two weeks hospitalized and had to also deal with a blot clot and infection.

“On June 21, I went in for a triple by-pass heart surgery. I came out with FIVE by passes as two of the arteries needed 2 by-passes each. After two days in ICU, I walked out of the hospital on Sunday evening, June 25th. 9 days in the hospital is not my idea of fun. 4 days later I ended up back in the hospital with a blood clot and infection from an IV site. After two days I walked out again. I will address this more in depth soon.”

Lodi

52-year-old Lodi broke into the wrestling business via WCW’s Power Plant, and, thanks to becoming Raven’s personal trainer, he ended up on television as part of his Flock.  Then when The Flock disbanded, he would be repackaged as a tag team wrestler alongside Lenny Lane called the West Hollywood Blondes, a team with homosexual overtones.

This would result in GLADD protesting the gimmick, and the pair were taken off television until again they were repackaged as ultra-conservative performers Standards and Practices. However, after failing to get over, he would be released, and while he has remained in the business on and off over the years, his time in the limelight was effectively over.
