Final 2024 WWE Hall Of Fame Inductee Announced

While it has been known for some time due to the full WWE Hall of Fame Class of 2024 leaking on Reddit, The Rock has now officially announced on Instagram that his grandmother, Lia Maivia, will be honored at this year’s ceremony. Additionally, it was noted that he will be inducting her, making this the third family member he has introduced to the WWE Hall of Fame after he inducted his father and grandfather in 2008.

“I’m honored to announce, that I will be inducting my grandmother, Lia Maivia, into the @WWE Hall of Fame, class of 2024. One of the first ever female promoters of professional wrestling. She was a trail blazer. She was a protector of our family. She was the real Final Boss.”

For those unaware, Lia Maivia was the wife of “High Chief” Peter Maivia, and following his death in 1982, she took over running Polynesian Pro Wrestling, making her one of the first-ever female wrestling promoters. From there, she would be responsible for putting on shows that drew thousands of fans, although ultimately, the promotion would fold in 1988 with the high cost of bringing in name wrestlers cited as a factor. Sadly, she passed away in 2008 at the age of 77, but her legacy lives on through her grandson.
