After impressing WWE officials during her WrestleMania XL weekend tryout, “Vicious” Victoria D’Errico would sign a full-time contract with the company. Yet, while she made her name as a boxer, she was actually hired as a referee instead of a wrestler. And now, having made her NXT debut earlier this month, she has wowed her social media followers by sharing a stunning selfie via her Instagram Stories, leaving many swooning and wondering if she was related to former Baywatch star Donna D’Errico.
Why D’Errico is pursuing a career as a referee when she has the apparent athletic ability and a background in a legitimate combat sport isn’t clear. However, in the past, WWE has been trying to recruit more female referees, and it is known that both Thunder Rosa and Tasha Steelz were offered this role. Therefore, perhaps it was the only spot open to D’Errico at the time, and the Providence College School of Business graduate is just happy to get her foot in the door.
