PWInsider.com reports that Michael Hogue, the man charged with first-degree murder in the shooting death of former WWE developmental talent Kevin Nikel, is scheduled to appear in court for a pre-trial hearing on July 15. The incident occurred in Rogers, Arkansas, in July 2025. If convicted, Hogue faces 10 to 40 years in prison or even life imprisonment. Nikel, who wrestled as Ivan Warsaw and Knuckles Madsen, was shot in the abdomen during an alleged confrontation and died at age 41.

Nikel enjoyed a solid career in professional wrestling, highlighted by his time in WWE’s developmental system. He signed with WWE in 2012, competing as Knuckles Madsen, and regularly performed on NXT live events while making a handful of television appearances. And while he was released in late 2013, he thrived on the independent circuit, particularly in Arkansas and the Midwest, under the ring name Ivan Warsaw. Known for his hard-hitting style and charisma, he headlined local events against legends such as Jerry Lawler and remained active until his untimely death.
