Eddie Kingston Says “I Was Wrong” After it Comes Out AEW Recently Suspended Him

On Wednesday, it was reported by various sources that Eddie Kingston had recently completed a suspension keeping him off AEW for several weeks. Apparently, Kingston got into an altercation with Sammy Guevera at the promotions August 10th tapings in Minneapolis following a promo he cut on him where he referenced his appearance. The pair ended up having to be separated, and it’s now believed Kingston will return to the company next week. Subsequently, PWInsider.com would reach out to the AEW star requesting confirmation, and he acknowledged the incident occurred, saying he was unprofessional and wrong.

You know the truth. I wouldn’t lie. I was wrong for being unprofessional. That is the blind fact. He did what he did, and the public can judge that, but I know for a fact I was wrong.

Backstage incidents like this are not new in wrestling, with wrestling locker rooms often likened to high school. However, with the pair set to wrestle at All Out, there is speculation that this is a work, with many feeling that AEW is now open to incorporating real-life issues to build angles, as seen with MJF. That, though, is unconfirmed, and it’s just as likely Kingston worked himself into a shoot and has been punished by management for it.
