ECW Original Addresses Possibility Of Wrestling One More Match

Taz retired from the ring in 2002, although he had a one-off match with Jerry Lawler at ECW One Night Stand in 2006 that lasted less than a minute. Therefore, it is safe to say he is retired from in-ring competition, although with his son Hook having broken into the business in recent years, there has been some speculation that Taz may want to tag with him at least once. Yet, there appears to be zero chance of that happening after Taz shot down the idea of a return to the ring on X, citing his injuries and lack of desire as the reason.

“I’m 56 years old, I need both shoulders replaced and both knees replaced so there is no shot at all. lol Also, I had/have ZERO desire for “1 last match” for many years. No interest at all, once I left the ring years ago…I have been completely comfortable & happy about it. Back than, I focused moving onto my next career at the announced desk.”

Taz

56-year-old Taz made his name in ECW before achieving his childhood dream of joining WWE in 1999. Still, his WWE wrestling career failed to live up to expectations, and he subsequently transitioned into being a commentator. And while he would depart WWE after a decade with the company, he would remain involved in pro wrestling via TNA before taking a break from the business and hosting a nationally syndicated morning radio show. However, with pro wrestling as his true passion, he signed with AEW in 2019, resuming announcer duties and leading his own stable, Team Taz.
