While fans were excited when news broke that Ax and Smash of Demolition were being inducted into the WWE Hall of Fame, some were disappointed that Brian Adams, better known as Crush, wasn’t being included. However, it appears Royce Adams, the son of the late Crush, isn’t upset, acknowledging on the Master Class podcast that Demolition’s legacy was firmly established before his dad joined the trio for their final year. Additionally, he remains hopeful for his father to be recognized separately for his solo career one day.
“Well, the way I see it, Demolition’s, their legacy was already well-established before my dad’s arrival because the way I see it, my dad didn’t get involved with Demolition until what? Their literal last year as a team … They’ve already built their own legacy well before my dad’s arrival, and therefore, it’s kind of like their own thing, and as for my dad, I would like to think that he could be honored someday as his own character, you know? As the Crush character.” – Royce Adams
Crush launched his solo WWF career after Demolition disbanded in 1991, returning in 1992 as the fan-favorite Kona Crusa, a Hawaiian surfer in bright attire who memorbaly feuded with Doink the Clown before turning heel and going against Randy Savage, facing him at WrestleMania X. Released in 1995 after injury and suspension, he returned in 1996 as a heel ex-convict in The Nation of Domination, but despite his impressive 6’6″, 315-pound frame and power, he never captured a major singles title or achived main-event status in either WWE or WCW putting his own Hall of Fame induction questionable.
