Following his and FTR’s defeat to The House of Black on Collision, CM Punk would take the mic to deliver a post-show promo and send the fans home happy. However, instead of it being related to the aforementioned match, he would take notice of a sign in attendance saying “Carolina is Hangman Country” and go on to cut an insult-filled promo on Hangman Page, a man he has a history with. Whether this was a work or shoot remains unclear.
“Earlier today, I went to a local supermarket, and I figured out what they call him Hangman. It’s because the pegs in the toy aisle are full of Hangman action figures because no one wants to buy them. He’s a peg warmer, unlike me, who moves merchandise and pops ratings and sells toys.”
CM PunkThe animosity between Page and Punk commenced after the former WWE star perceived Page to shoot him during an interview. During this now infamous interview, Page would say, “You talk a big game about workers’ rights, yeah? Well, you’ve shown the exact opposite since you’ve gotten here,” seemingly about Colt Cabana being taken off television. Punk, though, has consistently denied any involvement in that, but it is clearly a touchy subject.
