Chris Jericho Injury Causes FOZZY To Postpone Part Of Upcoming Tour

FOZZY was meant to be kicking off the next leg of their Save The World tour on September 8th in Columbus. However, the band has announced today that the first two weeks of gigs have been postponed until March 2023 due to an injury to lead singer, Chris Jericho. According to the announcement, Jericho is suffering from a severely bruised larynx stemming from his match with Jon Moxley on the August 10th episode of Dynamite. Thankfully, though, Jericho is recovering, and tour dates from September 29th are scheduled to continue as planned.

On August 10th during the Quake By The Lake AEW event in Minneapolis, Chris suffered a throat injury that left him with a severely bruised larynx. Unfortunately, even though the injury is healing and is NOT permanent, Chris hasn’t fully recovered and his laryngologist has recommended that Fozzy postpone the first two weeks of the Save The World tour (scheduled to start in Columbus on Sept 8) in order to facilitate a full recovery as soon as possible.

The postponed shows have been moved to the Spring of 2023. The rescheduled dates can be found at www.FOZZYROCK.com.

The next leg of the Save The World tour will now start on September 29 in Charlotte. Fozzy appreciates each and every one of you and we can’t wait to rock with you again at FULL STRENGTH very soon!!

Jericho, who returned to his “Lionheart” moniker for the bout with Moxley at Quake By The Lake, really left the hard-hitting world title match banged up. As in addition to the larynx injury, he also suffered an injured foot and required six stitches to his forehead. And this was coming off a broken nose from his barbed wire match against Eddie Kingston on July 20th. Nevertheless, the match itself was highly praised, with Dave Meltzer of the Wrestling Observer Newsletter rating it ****3/4. With the only complaint coming from fans being the gruesome amount of blood.
