Brock Lesnar’s WrestleMania 39 Opponent Reported

Brock Lesnar last wrestled for WWE at Crown Jewel in November and is now on one of his regular hiatuses up until the Royal Rumble. And with WrestleMania 39 now only being four months away, WWE has begun planning for his next WrestleMania opponent, with WrestlingNews.co reporting that internally he is listed to face current Intercontinental champion, Gunther.

After asking someone who is familiar with the creative plans, WrestlingNews.co was told that Lesnar vs. Gunther is one of the matches listed internally for the show. Gunther has talked about wanting the match because he feels that a match with Lesnar would present the biggest possible challenge for him.

Gunther, who is ten years Lesnar’s junior, was called up to the main roster earlier this April and has been firmly pushed ever since, winning the Intercontinental Championship from Ricochet two months later. Since then, he has worked with Shinsuke Nakamura and Sheamus, with whom he had a highly acclaimed match at Clash At The Castle in September. However, a WrestleMania with Lesnar would be a huge step up and show he is destined for WWE stardom.
