Braun Strowman has upset many AEW fans after he replied to an Instagram video mocking a match between Zack Clayton vs. Serpentico from Dark Elevation. In his response, the former WWE star would say that the Fight Club-inspired promotion he runs with EC3 called Control Your Narrative would last longer than AEW. Additionally, he bragged about putting hundreds of dollars of his own money into it while taking a shot at both Tony Khan and his father Shahid in the process. Why Strowman would decide to take this approach towards one of the biggest companies in wrestling when he is a free agent is unknown, but it certainly looks like his chances of ever performing for AEW or ROH are now slim to none.
With WWE bringing back former talents that were released due to budget cuts, it’s possible Strowman thinks knocking AEW will endear him to WWE management. However, there have been no rumors of WWE having any interest in him, seemingly confirming his career in the mainstream is over. He does, though, have his CYN promotion which launched in 2021 which has run several shows to fall back on. Yet, with attendances in the low hundreds, it seems incredibly unlikely CYN will last longer than AEW unless Strowman is prepared to pump his money into a money-losing vanity project long-term.
