Last week, Ryan Frederick, who writes for the Wrestling Observer Newsletter, reported that Bobby Fish had tried to get Adam Cole and Kyle O’Reilly to request their AEW releases. With many fans assuming this was due to him hoping that as a trio, they could return to WWE and restart the Undisputed Era. However, now while speaking on The Undisputed Podcast, which he recently started, Fish would deny this, claiming Frederick faked the story. He would also add that Jim Cornette’s comments, which weren’t harsh by his standard during his own podcast, had hurt his feelings because they previously had a good relationship.
Guess what, boys? After over 25 years in the wrestling business, I don’t know how contracts work myself. What was most troublesome and amusing at the same time was how many outlets picked up on. If there’s anybody who knows that it’s totally fabricated information, it would be me, Adam, Kyle, Hunter, the people that they’re talking about, who didn’t do any of the things.
None of it is real. Even people like Jim Cornette picked it up and commented on it. Jim and I always had a great relationship. If I’m being honest, Jim hurt my feelings a little bit by believing some bullsh*t about me so easily.
Fish is currently a free agent, having departed AEW earlier this year, and while he has since appeared in Impact Wrestling, it’s known no contract was signed. Therefore he would be available to return to WWE if Triple H was interested. However, there has been no talk of this so far, and with Fish turning 46 next month, that ship has likely sailed. Nevertheless, he does still have a lot to offer the wrestling world, seemingly though it will have to be outside the top two promotions right now.
