WWE and AAA kicked off their joint Worlds Collide show this weekend with the United States and Mexican national anthems being performed to open the show, which was a classy touch for both sets of fans. However, the frowning reaction of Blue Demon Jr., who was in the ring to kick off the event, has now gone viral across Spanish-speaking social media after the Mexican national anthem was sung wrong by Deyra Barrera, subsequently becoming a news story in the country.

“From the first few bars, Barrera showed her nervousness and it was even clear that she was paying close attention to what the prompter was saying, although as the seconds passed her problems grew … While the fans remained silent in their intonation, the one who could not hide his surprise, and even annoyance, was Blue Demon Jr., who was among the celebrities inside the ring.”mediotiempo.com

For those unaware, Blue Demon Jr. is the adopted son of the original Blue Demon and continues his legacy, as Blue Demon Sr.’s son by birth did not want to be a pro wrestler.  Still, this has caused a great deal of controversy in Mexico over who actually owns the name, with the birth son going as far as to claim Blue Demon Jr. was never adopted and, therefore, shouldn’t have any claim to the legendary character. However, Blue Demon Jr. has never publicly responded to this allegation, and despite being 58 years old, he continues to compete regularly, having established himself as a genuine star in the world of lucha libre.
