Backstage News On How WWE Kept Brock Lesnar’s Return Secret

Brock Lesnar returned to WWE television at the conclusion of SummerSlam Night 2 to F5 John Cena just minutes after he dropped the Undisputed WWE Championship to Cody Rhodes. This was especially unexpected as there hadn’t even been rumors that Lesnar was in town, with the only online speculation coming from fantasy bookers.

And now Fightful Select has reported that WWE actually flew the former UFC star in on Saturday, and utilized Teterboro Airport to bring him in via a private plane to keep his return secret.

“It is believed that Lesnar was flown into Minnesota and then Teterboro private on Saturday private and that Lesnar was hid throughout the day.Fightful Select

After he was implicated in Janel Grant’s lawsuit against Vince McMahon, John Laurinaitis, and the company as a whole, WWE distanced itself from Lesnar, seemingly worried that utilizing him would harm their reputation. Subsequently, he was removed from their online card game, taken off the cover of the 40 Years of WrestleMania edition of WWE 2K24, and even replaced by LA Knight in WWE’s opening intro before SmackDown. Still, it appears WWE management believes enough time has now passed, and Lesnar is now back to at least work one match with John Cena.
