The Beast Mortos is currently in the process of establishing his new ring name in AEW, having had to give up going by Black Taurus due to AAA owning the trademark on that name. However, after Dick Angelo 3G, who now uses the name Taurus in the company, competed at Saturday’s Triplemanía sporting a very similar look to that of The Beast Mortos, the AEW wrestler who recently competed in law school, has taken to X to tease filing a lawsuit. Whether this would see Mortos sue Dick Angelo 3G, AAA, WWE, or all three is unclear, but if he isn’t joking, it could certainly be an interesting case to follow.

The 38-year-old masked Luchador initially broke into the wrestling business under the name Semental in 2016, and would subsequently work for several lucha libre promotions as Black Taurus before receiving his big break in the United States via Impact Wrestling, which was facilitated by their working relationship with AAA. Yet once he decided to depart from AAA to sign with AEW full-time, he had to give up the Black Taurus gimmick. This would therefore see him become The Beast Mortos, debuting the reimagined character at ROH’s 2024 Supercard of Honor event.
