AEW Talent Reveals He Is Injured & Requires Surgery

Unfortunately, injuries are a big part of being a pro wrestler, and everyone suffers from them throughout their career. And now, during an appearance on Isiah Kassidy’s latest YouTube video, AEW’s Ortiz has revealed he has suffered a torn pec and is, therefore, set for a spell on the sidelines due to needing surgery. When the injury happened wasn’t revealed, although considering his last match was back in January when he teamed with Eddie Kingston against Bryan Danielson and Claudio Castagnoli on an episode of Collision, it seems likely that is when it occurred.

“I’m injured. I’m about to get surgery in two weeks. It was just from a clothesline. I tore a pec. I tore my pec from a clothesline. It’s because I’m too jacked. I’m so jacked my tendons couldn’t keep up. Two weeks and four months recovery time, and I’ll be back.”

Ortiz

32-year-old Ortiz’s AEW career commenced in 2019 when he and longtime tag partner Santana debuted for the company at All Out. From there, the duo would join Chris Jericho’s Inner Circle stable for a memorable run. However, after the Inner Circle disbanded, neither Ortiz nor Santana was prominently featured, and following a real-life dispute, they split up their popular tag team, opting to pursue singles careers.
