Abyss Explains Why He Turned Down The Opportunity To Wrestle For WWE

TNA Hall of Famer Abyss currently works for WWE as a producer, but has never wrestled for the company. And now, during an interview with Getting Over, he has confirmed that at one point, WWE did look to sign him as an on-screen talent, but he turned down their approaches due to being “all about TNA at that time.

“There were a couple times that we had conversations, and they always went really well. You know, my thing at the time, I was with TNA since the beginning. I was there from the start, and that made it for me personally extremely hard to part and to leave … I was all about TNA at that time.”Abyss

51-year-old Abyss, real name Christopher Park, broke into the business in 1995. After several years of working under names such as the Original Terminator, Chris Justice, and Prince Justice, he was given the Abyss gimmick by Dutch Mantel while working in Puerto Rico. Subsequently, he would go on to join TNA, where he worked for 17 years, becoming one of their most recognizable homegrown stars before taking a backstage role with WWE.
