Prior to causing a disturbance at JFK Airport and subsequent release, WWE had put Matt Riddle in a new tag team alongside Drew McIntyre. And while they only ended up competing a handful of times together, it now turns out the company had long-term plans for the duo, with WrestleVotes reporting that the company had begun designing merchandise for them. Additionaly, revealing their collective name was going to be “McRiddle.”
37-year-old Riddle was previously part of the highly successful RK-Bro tag team with Randy Orton, twice holding the WWE Raw Tag Team Championships. Therefore, WWE likely hoped they could recapture that magic again with McIntyre in Orton’s spot. However, due to Riddle’s offscreen behavior, fans will never get to see what “McRiddle” could have achieved.
