In unfortunate news, PWInsider.com has reported that current SmackDown General Manager and WWE producer Nick Aldis is expected to undergo surgery following a likely bicep tear. The update didn’t confirm how long the former NWA and TNA wrestler would be sidelined; however, recovery time for this type of injury is usually months rather than weeks.
“Former NWA Champion and current Smackdown General Manager Nick Aldis was recently injured and is expected to undergo surgery on his arm, PWInsider.com has learned from multiple WWE sources. The belief among some is that the injury may be a torn bicep.”
PWinsider.comWhile 37-year-old Aldis has been a high-profile wrestler for some time, it previously appeared WWE would overlook him for his entire career. Yet after landing a backstage role as a producer, he surprisingly became an on-screen talent as SmackDown’s General Manager late last year. And while many fans still hold out hope he will eventually compete in a WWE ring, this injury news would seemingly prevent that for the foreseeable future.
