Sami Zayn’s wife, Khadijah Sebei, has appeared on WWE television a handful of times to support her husband in major storylines; however, she has never become a regular character. And now, while speaking to Gorilla Position, Zayn has explained that he has tried to shield her from the business, noting she isn’t “built for criticism,” calling some fans on social media “monsters.”
“I shielded her specifically from it because she didn’t sign up for it, and I just don’t think she’s built for criticism. The kind of criticism that these monsters online sometimes hurl at us, especially the women or whatever. And I just didn’t want to expose her to that, and then somehow or another, she ended up kind of involved in the story when we did the match in Montreal.”
Sami ZaynKhadijah, affectionately known as Deeja, remains a mystery to the public, with her social media profiles wisely locked down. Still, it is amusingly understood that she was unaware of Zayn’s status as a prominent pro wrestler when they first started dating in 2014, thinking he wrestled as a hobby. From there, they would tie the knot in 2018, and three years later, they welcomed Rami Sebei Jr. into their lives.
