WWE Hall Of Famer Shares Valid Reason Roman Reigns Should Have A Limited Schedule

Roman Reigns is arguably WWE’s biggest star at present, yet to say he works a limited schedule would be an understatement, with even his appearances on television sporadic, let alone matches. This has caused a great deal of frustration among many fans who feel because of this, he shouldn’t be so prominently pushed when other talents like Cody Rhodes and Seth Rollins appear week in and week out. However, WWE Hall of Famer Mark Henry has now come to the defense of Reigns during Busted Open, specifically noting that because he is immunocompromised from his leukemia, it’s for the best he isn’t around all the time.

“He can’t even be around all the time, crowds and stuff, because the medicine that he takes. He needs rest. Like, not from wrestling, for living. I have a friend that had leukemia. And when we’re in the car, he wears a mask, just not to breathe the air, I might be sick. My daughter, she gets infusions every so often because of her Crohn’s. Her body does not defend itself against everything, so she gets a cold, it could be pneumonia. It’s different with people like Roman.”

38-year-old Reigns was diagnosed with chronic myeloid leukemia in 2007 after signing with the Minnesota Vikings and was subsequently released from his contract. Yet despite this, he would continue his football career for another few years before deciding to pursue wrestling in 2010 when it was understood his leukemia was in remission. Sadly, it would return in 2018, and Reigns famously revealed this during an episode of Raw where he relinquished the Universal Championship. Thankfully, he was able to return to the ring the following year with it again in remission, although it is known he continues to take medication to manage the disease.
