SummerSlam is less than a month away, and right now, the location is unconfirmed. The event was scheduled to take place at TD Garden in Boston, Massachusetts, but due to the pandemic, Boston’s mayor has suspended all large scale gathering until September at the earliest. The obvious solution would be to hold the pay-per-view at the Performance Center, however, it’s understood WWE is thinking of doing something more visually appealing and are looking at alternatives.
The location choices under deliberation are either holding the show on a beach which WCW did in the 90’s or hosting the event onboard a boat, much like the episode of Dynamite taped on Chris Jericho’s cruise. A combination of both could also be a possibility.
At present, the top matches on the show are expected to be WWE Champion Drew McIntyre defending against Randy Orton and WWE Universal Champion Braun Strowman wrestling The Fiend.
