WWE Changed NXT Segment Due To Jay Briscoe’s Passing

In shocking news, Ring of Honor’s Jay Briscoe died, aged just 38, following a crash that also left another person dead. Further details are currently unknown other than the accident occurred around 5:30 pm on Tuesday. However, despite never having worked for WWE, not only did the company pay tribute to him during NXT, but Sean Ross Sapp of Fightful Select has reported that they also decided to change a New Day segment that was meant to feature a funeral.

The wrestling world is still coming to terms with the news of Briscoe, real name Jamin Pugh’s death. While known as one of the toughest and most assertive competitors in the business, he was beloved by everyone who had the pleasure of meeting him. Our thoughts remain with his family at this time, with the former ROH World Champion survived by his wife, 13-year-old son, two daughters, and brother Mark with whom he held countless tag championships.
