Wrestling Journalist Defends His Report That Brock Lesnar Walked Out Prior To SmackDown

Following the surprise news that Vince McMahon had retired, Bryan Alvarez of F4Wonline.com would report that Brock Lesnar had left SmackDown. Sean Ross Sapp of Fightful.com would also verify this, stating that Lesnar was “p*ssed off.” However, anyone who watched SmackDown will know that Lesnar returned in time for the show’s conclusion and laid out Austin Theory with an F5 on In The Bank briefcase. This would therefore prompt dozens of fans to call out Alvarez, Ross, and wrestling journalists in general for sharing fake news.

Nevertheless, Alvarez has since fired back, confirming everything he tweeted out was accurate. Additionally, he would call the fans who went after him “maniacs,” noting that WWE even acknowledged Lesnar had left the venue on SmackDown.

The situation with Lesnar is fascinating, with it appearing that the former UFC star was unhappy finding out, along with everyone else, that McMahon was retiring, seeming to believe he should have been told face to face. Thankfully though, for WWE, it appears cooler heads prevailed with Lesnar returning ahead of his main event match with Roman Reigns at next week’s SummerSlam.
