Why Netflix Wrestling Star Was Forced To Miss Her WWE Tryout Revealed

Last month, it was learned that OVW Women’s Champion Hollyhood Haley J, who is part of the Netflix series “Wrestlers,” had been invited to attend a WWE tryout at the Performance Center. However, it was later revealed that she was forced to pull out at the last minute due to an undisclosed issue with her medical paperwork.

Now, Fightful Select has followed up on that story, reporting that the issue was she couldn’t get clearance from her doctor due to her suffering from epilepsy. Still, according to their report, WWE does plan to give her another opportunity in the future.

“WWE sources confirmed that Hollyhood Haley J didn’t attend the tryouts due to clearances on her side, which she claims was her doctor not clearing her due to epilepsy. WWE sources told us they plan to have her back in for another tryout.”

Second-generation wrestler Haley J is the daughter of fellow independent pro wrestler Amazing Maria, and they regularly team on the independents. She would break into the business in 2020 and quickly became a regular for IWA-Mid-South and Ohio Valley Wrestling. Yet, despite her inexperience in terms of years in the business, she has already wrestled over 180 matches, including ones for both WOW and AEW.
