Unfortunately, MJF has been out of action due to injury since World’s End, when he dropped the AEW Championship to Samoa Joe. Yet when it was revealed he had met up with AEW management in Boston last month, many hoped his return was approaching, with his physical therapy having worked. However, @WrestlePurists, who have broken news before, have now reported that the AEW star has had to undergo shoulder surgery, and there is no timetable for his return.
“Sources close to the situation have confirmed to WrestlePurists that MJF has undergone surgery on his left shoulder … There is no timetable for his return.”
@WrestlePurists28-year-old MJF broke into the business in 2015, and while he tried to fast-track his career via WWE’s Tough Enough, he wasn’t selected to compete. Therefore, he would build his name up via the independent scene before joining MLW and AEW in 2019. Then, thanks to his charisma, mic skills, and ability to blur the lines between reality and storylines, he quickly climbed the ranks in Tony Khan’s promotion, feuding with the likes of Chris Jericho, Jon Moxley, and CM Punk.
