Apollo Crews was scheduled to wrestle MVP at last night’s Horror Show at Extreme Rules pay-per-view, but the match did not occur. Announcers explained that Crews had a bulging disc in his back caused by Bobby Lashley’s Full Nelson, which caused him to fail his pre-match physical. This would result in MVP declaring himself the new United States Champion by forfeit.
Apollo Crews would later take to Twitter, saying he would be coming to get his belt back, as you can read below.

It wasn’t known at the time if WWE’s reason was genuine for the match not taking place, and Dave Meltzer has gone on to reveal on his Wrestling Observer Radio show that it is actually COVID-19 related. It should be noted that Meltzer did explicitly state that he had tested positive.
Hopefully, it won’t be long until Apollo Crews can return.
