Vince McMahon Comments On WWE’s Merger With Endeavor

Earlier this year, it was announced that WWE would be merging with Endeavor, the parent company of UFC, to create TKO Group Holdings. And today, the deal officially closed, with the new company now being listed on the New York Stock Exchange. Obviously, this was a massive deal for all involved and has dominated business news media, and subsequently, Vince McMahon has commented on the agreement few ever thought would happen.

“This is the culmination of a decades-long partnership between Endeavor and WWE across strategic initiatives, including talent representation and media rights. Given our collaborative, trusted relationship and Endeavor’s incredible track record of success growing UFC, we believe WWE is optimally positioned for future growth and success as part of TKO. Our focus remains on delivering for our fans across the globe as we take the business to the next level alongside UFC and Endeavor.”

WWE had been majority-owned by the McMahon family for its entire history, so this is a monumental change. However, it should be noted that Vince McMahon is an executive chairman of the new entity, is individually one of the highest shareholders, and will still be in control of the company’s creative direction.
